For students

Get good grades. Earn big bucks.

Four academic classes pay. Quizzes and tests put cash in your pocket right away. Report cards build a much bigger account, and part of that money is set aside to invest.

Right away

Quizzes and tests

Log the date, the class, what the quiz or test was, and your percent. This money is yours to keep. It is not split.

A score of 90% or higher pays $1 for every percent. A 90 pays $90. A 93 pays $93.

Low grades cost money

80% to 89% pays nothing. The penalty starts in the seventies. Quizzes and tests do not use these deductions.

Seventies cost $1 for each point under 80. A 79% is −$1. Sixties cost $2 for each point under 70, on top of −$9 for the seventies, so a 69% is −$11. Anything under 60% is a flat −$100. The loss is part of the report-card total, so it is split the same way as the pay.

The big one

Get 100% in all four academic classes, and make every one of them Honors or AP. That semester pays $1,000, then doubles to $2,000. Do it both semesters and the year is $4,000 from report cards alone.

Keep some. Invest some.

Report-card money starts split in half: 50% you keep, 50% goes to investing. You are encouraged to invest 75% and keep 25%. That part is your choice, not a rule. Quiz and test money stays with you either way.

You enter your grade and the four classes. Check Honors or AP where it applies. Then log quizzes as they happen, and the report-card percent at the end of each semester.
